I personally think that Salazar would have put charms on the chamber making it inpenitrable to all unless you could speak parseltongue

I think anyone would be able to go inside or see the chamber as long as it's open.

No, Myrtle did not go into the chamber. She died in the bathroom but never went into the actual chamber.
