The L word

I just watch The L Word, this show is really special. It comes to the lesbian visibility on TV, and clear show us the whole world. And I think that’s quite a challenge. This show is about a group of lesbian and bisexual friends in LA. The L Word lesbians finally get to see their lives and relationships with the heterosexual characters and relationships on it. I think this is some kind of revolutionary. Unfortunately, not much people find this show is good. But I love it, of course I’m not a lesbian or bisexual.
This show introduces us to five lesbians, a bisexual woman, one of the lesbian’s heterosexual older half-sister, and a woman who is about to discover to her dismay that she’s not so heterosexual after all. This show is going to improve lesbian visibility on television overnight.
In terms of the number of lesbian sex scenes, the show does seem to err slightly on the more conservative side, averaging around only one or two an episode; hopefully this will change as the show progresses and there is more evidence that viewers are comfortable with this imagery. While there are heterosexual sex scenes on the show (between Jenny and Tim, for example), they are not featured any more frequently or explicitly than the lesbian ones.
